Bass Pecan Company joins forces with Smith's Pecans, Inc.
MADISON, MS - -Bass Pecan Company proudly announces its partnership with Smith's Pecans, Inc., of Raymond. Smith's Pecans is a third-generation, 500-acre pecan orchard in business since 1904., Combining operations means that now we can offer more than 200 years of expertise in pecan trees, pecans, and southern gourmet gifts to our customers.
The Smith and Bass families have a long history of working together to grow and promote pecans. Both were active in pecan growing in the early 20th century in Mississippi and met at grower conferences. When Smith siblings Mrs. Libby Smith Rushing, Mrs. Sara Smith Porter, and Randolph Smith made the decision to seek a change of pace, Bass Pecan Company was ready to join forces. "We are excited to merge with Bass Pecan," says Mrs. Rushing, "This is a perfect fit for us. We will be able to offer more to the public here at Raymond." They will continue to run the retail location and orchard, now known as 'Bass Pecan Company at Smith's' Orchards'. The shop will be open year round, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm and Saturday, 8am-1pm, and will feature many of Bass Pecan Company's popular pecan products, including natural pecans, 20+ flavored pecans, candies, pies, and even fresh frozen vegetables.
Bass Pecan Company welcomes Smith's Pecans to its family of retail locations in Lumberton, Natchez, and now, Raymond, and to its catalog and online stores. Andrew Copeland of Bass Pecan says, "We look forward to a long relationship with Smith's as we work together to revitalize the pecan industry in Mississippi."
